Renzo Nicoletti
Furpile Idea
“Taking this path requires passion and above all the desire to learn.”
What prompted you to undertake your path as a designer / creative within the district?
I started working in this world in 1966. Initially I was a mechanic who worked with circular machines, then, little by little, my great passion for fabrics and in particular for pile fabrics was born.
What would you recommend to those who want to follow your path?
Taking this path requires passion and above all the desire to learn. It is important to practice a lot, try and try again. Experiment without ever losing heart.
What are your favourite fabrics?
My favourite fabrics are boiled wool. These are fabrics that require a lot of work because there are many blends to make, but surely, they are the fabrics that give me the most satisfaction.
What are your future aspirations as a designer? What materials would you like to work on in the future?
In the near future I would very much like to be able to use natural raw materials such as cashmere and mohair on our circular machines in order to avoid wasting raw materials as much as possible.
What has been your greatest professional satisfaction?
My greatest professional satisfaction has been to create a company. Since that moment many doors have opened and there are many opportunities that still today give me so much to do and give me great satisfaction.
